Why just pursue what you can accomplish with your own individual efforts. Why not pursue something that requires God’s help. Why not pursue the impossible? When you pursue the dreams God places in your heart they will often seem impossible to accomplish. That’s because they will depend on him intervening on your behalf in order to achieve them. But when God gets involved.. that’s when things get interesting, and down right fascinating!
The key is to just be faithful; do your part, and then learn to rely on God to do His part. Impossible dreams can take a lifetime to accomplish, but I can’t think of a better way to spend your life than pursuing the impossible. We were especially created to reach the unreachable and do the impossible.
But even impossible dreams must have structure to them and plans that must be implemented. Common sense tells you that you can’t win a board game in which you don’t understand the rules. Neither can you attain success of any kind without first clearly understanding where you’re headed and then calculating what it will take to get there.
Take the construction of Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, for instance. The American Society of Civil Engineers declared it to be one of Modern Wonders of The World. Until 1964, The Golden Gate Bridge had the longest suspension bridge. This marvelous modern feat of man took 3 engineers and over 4 years to complete. Achievements of this magnitude are multi-layered and require a very strategic process that is rolled out in various stages.
Many of us have great ideas that would help launch us into God’s vision for our lives, but lack a definitive strategy to get us there. Too often, we come to the table unprepared and the result is always the same – failure to launch. Remember, God will always create a structure first which he will then fill with substance afterwards. Take the time build the dream in an orderly fashion and make sure you can clearly define the vision and understand all of its components.
Then have faith that as you proceed with due diligence that God will illuminate your path. Despite our preconceived limitations, God pre-wired us with an innate desire for the magnificent and we will never be satisfied until we are living in the realm of the extraordinary. We were meant to accomplish the impossible. Pursuing things that are easy and completely possible is a waste of time and unsatisfying. It is pursuing the impossible that makes life exhilarating and one feel alive!
